برنامج جوجل ايرث Google Earth من شركة جوجل Google هو عبارة عن برنامج يربطك بالقمر الصناعي ، ووظيفة هذا البرنامج هو اظهار صور كوكب الأرض بعدة اشكال ، فبواسطة هذا البرنامج يمكنك الذهاب لأي بلد ورؤية التضاريس لهذا البلد من بعد ، بل يمكنك التقريب حتى ترى الناس المتجولون في الشارع ، يمكنك التحكم بالكوكب بطريقة سهلة ، فعند شده بالفأرة يدور ليصل للمكان المراد ، ثم يمنكن استخدام عجل الماوس للتقريب والتبعيد ، كما يعرض البرنامج معلومات كثيرة تفيدك في عملية البحث ، وذلك مثل عرض اسماء المدن واسماء الاحياء والشوارع الرئيسية في المدينة ، كما يوضح خطوط الحدود الدولية بين البلدان ، وبعض المعلومات الأخرى قد تكون مهمة لك مثل معدل الجريمة وغيرها ، والشيء المميز في هذا البرنامج الرائع أنه يمكن الذهاب لمدينة معينة وعرضها ومن ثم حفظها في بند “My Places” ، وذلك للرجوع اليها بسهولة بدلاً من اجراء البحث مرة أخرى والتقريب والتبعيد
